It is indeed a pie. Unfortunately the thumb doesn't show it too well (late night compression fiasco) but there is actually a π in the middle of the pie.

In honesty, I've not really seen the joke ever. En fiat, up until I made this I'd never once heard it except from my fat maths teacher I had at high school. Hmm, must be an isolation thing with living in Australia, I guess?
