this is freakin awesome... i've just recently done my own multi-limbed design, but in a totally different direction.

This is wicked, love the colours and the details.

It makes me think of the Kray twins, South London gangster films and the X-Men all rolled into one. $5 dude

this is a very nice design but I think it would be better if the text was a more clever pun in latin then instead of the obvious "coat of arms"

tremendous idea and i really like the coat but, to make this really incredible i:

1.agree with popojijo's comment

2. take those scribbles out of the backing part so that it fits better with the coat.

still a $5

I agree with the previous posts. The title should be in Latin.

Ha ha, I get it.

The foreground seems to pop out a bit too much, perhaps if the lines were a lighter color, to go with the background (which is lovely, by the way)..?

umm....i think the guns are a stupid addition.

tell us what you really think! the guns are intended as a double pun - guns - arms - firearms - coat of arms

Thanks 2 every1 who's commented & voted to date - much respect! I've been thinking about the whole latin thing & must say I have come around to the idea. How would you feel if it read... Vi et armis
Ldy
Ldy on Jul 27 '06
First off, I LOVE this! :D

I wouldn't use "vi et armis," personally... it refers to something completely different. I wouldn't use latin, either. Heraldry didn't become popular until 1135 - 1155 A.D., and most of the terms it uses are English or French. So I'd just use a fancier font, or an odd heraldry term (like "Aiguisee," which means "sharply pointed," like your pun) :)

another visual pun (yawn)... good exucution though
emeryg
   emeryg on Jul 27 '06
Cheers 4 the feedback! I was thinking if it was english it could simply say "DEFEND" but for Latin "Vi et armis" which translates "By Force and Arms" which I think fits quiet well?
