Nathan Griffin on Jan 04 '06 you should really think about greeting cards if this shirt thing doesn't work out for you. there's a huge market (still) for nonsensical greeting cards and if done right, you could be ace. consider letterpress.... all the cool kids are doing it these days ;)

great design...
simple and silly backstgartist... you made a shiver run up my spine... i guess probably because you have "artist" in your name... a letter press is the basis of all printing as we know it. the chinese have been doing since the dawn of time! you ink a block, put in a piece of paper (or whatever) and then "press" the two together. the block pushes into the paper and leaves ink where the areas were raised. |

Letterpress is a printing method. It's similar to embossing. For examples, check out this website---> http://www.letterpressed.com/index.shtml I just think with the right paper choice, you could have yourself a kick-ass series of cards. Letterpress is still a bit costly if you're only doing small numbers of prints but you could start out printing cards on your home printer and with the money that you make from that, get a limited edition run of letterpress cards made. If you like projects, that would be a great one. I'd be interested in buying some cards if you printed them. |
