I guess that sort of thing happens doesn' it? I like the art- the concept scares me. I couldn't wear something like that.

The artwork is good, and I like the idea of the polaroid and the ransom note. If there was something to make it absurd instead of reminiscent of the nightly news, like if it was Wednesday Addams or a garden gnome or something...

Redsugar you said what I tried to say- being a woman and a mother- it is difficult to detatch from the realities of things likehtis- I agree if it was not a woman/girl or a human at all... something absurd..I looked at your other stuff and theyare all awesome. This one is just sad in concept. you know ?

karena@magicjelly on Aug 30 '05 I don't have so much of a concept problem...but I'm not keen on tee designs in an oblong format...they can just be so confining & uninteresting...they do work sometimes, but not always. I also feel the illy itself is a bit stiff...a bit too symmetrical...& if that is meant to be a polaroid, that would make the ransom letters miniscule. The girl's nose is a bit off too...& I really don't like that seizure-inducing green.

I think its great.
I do see where people'd be offended by it. Whoever said the Garden Gnome thing has a good idea to make it less offensive. And.. well, garden gnomes are funny. (And that idea is funny if you've seen Amelie.. and someone actually took the idea from the movie and kidnapped someone's gnome and took pics of it in random places). But regardless, I'd personally buy this anyway. |

Her nose looks like a little ghost and her neck is reaaaaally thick.
Otherwise, pretty cool. If you could take the same concept and make it grittier and less cartoony, I'd buy it. |

The garden gnome would be bad cause not only is it apparently from Amelie, it's also a commercial.

I like the artwork, but I agree that I can't find the humour in it. I also definitely do not like it on black. The bright green of her shirt clashes.

The art is good, but doesn't match the concept. The syle comes off as... humorous to me, but I see no humor in this. The clean cut rectangle of the photo isn't very appealing, though. I am in love with one of the ideas above,though- to use a gnome instead.

I understand all the folks who are sensitive to this. The only way to pander to you would be to make this a self-kidnapping somehow. Her nose seems a bit off, and she has a Henry Rollins neck. Otherwise, awesome!

Are you guys really critiquing the authenticity of a drawing???
It's a drawn image not a lesson in impressionism or photo realism, get over it! Also some people out there really need to lighten up about the whole kidnapping thing. I can't believe you guys want to turn this into a bright bowl of flowers with "Amelie Recommendations" instead of seeing the design for what it really is, creepy and scary (I love it!). Stop making things so Politically Correct! Life is tough and some images you might not like... welcome to real life. If you don't like it then wear a fucken HELMET! |

child abduction is so hilarious. I want to identify myself with it by wearing it on a shirt. uh What?!
...Somehow make the drawing rediculous or give it a twist. As a straight forward illustration of a kidnapping its not going to get much support. especially not from us caregivers and parents! |

How can anyone so twisted think this is humorous. I think its the dumbest shirt ive probably seen on all of threadless. And the fact that so many people above had made comments on this how they liked it makes me wonder how there are so many people in this country so retarded.

it reminds me of these shirts that i see every 9 year old girl wearing
with a cartoon polaroid type image saying missing: dog or whatever else having said that, this is a no go |
