Wow, this is literally the 5th design in a row I've scored that featured break dancing, not to mention the millions of others I've seen the last couple weeks. That's not a knock on the design per se, but definitely an indication that if you want your design to stand out, you might try to come up with a unique concept. The Threadless community moves pretty fast. What might have been unique a couple weeks ago is now cliched.
I know you young guys don't remember the 80's too well when I see a break dancer with a 'fro. Afros were seventies naturalistic. By the 80's you couldn't walk down the street that way without being laughed at. Think of Michael Jackson's hair on the Thriller cover.
Thelonius, there are lots of break dancers in the contest because it was HUGE in the eighties. What we as scorers have to do is help the staff find the best one. I agree with you that I will be glad when both the kickin it and bioshock challenges are over. We all want to see something new.
I think this one is pretty good (though I'd fix the hair). The cardboard is accurate and the figure has movement. I also like that the colors aren't too 80's because couldn't stand 'em then and I can't stand 'em now.
Come on folks, let's cut some slack to those that have submitted break dancing designs. I mean this contest is for a movie about breakdancing after all. That being said, this shirt on it's own merits is not terribly dynamic. the placement could be better and I don't see a reason why it was rendered grayscale. On a technical level it has been illustrated well.
