the difference in graphic detail between the 'phone and ,er, its output rubs me the wrong way but unlike others, i like the colors

other than the fact that both swirls and megaphones are fun, i'm not sure whats going on here. are we celebrating the sound of the directors voice yelling 'cut' thru the megaphone? and if so, why??
