After a strange, somewhat terrible-turned-okay week, I came home Thursday night to find a big USPS box. Goldie the cat was very intrigued with the box.

Here is the spread!

OM NOM NOM

I promise I have toes; they just look bad right now thanks to an interesting paint job. These sock are SO sparkly. They actually fit, even though I have ginormous feet (size 12 women's)!

The nearly-9-year-old holding up two yummy WONKA bars!

Fun foil-wrapped candies!!! They're like ornaments.

Awesome-looking book which my sis-in-law is dying to steal from me!

Clearly a a very somber book... LOL I've already marked some pages to try!

This is the weirdest, coolest, monkeyest thing I have ever seen!!! I can't figure out if it will go in our main hallway or in our bathroom as a towel hook. I LOVE IT!

Yes, there are two. No, I'm not capable of taking a photo of both hands. These are so warm and soft, and since they're white/cream-colored, no cat hair shows up on them! I've been wearing them in the car since Friday morning for driving. :D

LIKE THE COOLEST BLANKET OF ALL TIME. It's on my lap right now keeping me warm as I type. The back is this grey (like elephant-grey) fuzzy soft fabric that initially made me think of a towel with how it looked, but it is SO soft.

The candy cane heart which broke in transit but still hung on the tree; the breaks made it easy to share. ;)

The whole haul on my coffee table. Plus a bit of the cat butt at the top there. :D

Thank you so much, pyr4lis LORI!!!

My husband used it for one year in junior high and that was it. It's a Yamaha, I believe, a B-flat and it has the case. The only issue I know of is that the mouthpiece is stuck on, but if you are ever interested in it, we're selling it for $200 shipped. :)
So yeah. Some of you know that a close friend of mine was killed in August in a motorcycle accident. He had no life insurance and his insurance company (that he had the motorcycle coverage through) has been deciding whether or not to pay a $50,000 or $100,000 accidental loss of life. The insurance company's policy states that if he was run over after the accident and the party fled the scene, it would be paid. After a lot of deliberation between the coroner and the accident reconstructionists, there is neither proof he was hit again nor proof that he WASN'T hit again.

Due to all of this, the adjuster (who is instrumental in trying to get this pushed through for my friend's wife) needs a letter of sorts, explaining what's happened since the accident. It needs to be truthful, yet emotional enough that the company decides to pay. Would someone be willing to read it and tell me what they think? It's nearly two pages long in a Word document. It's hard to remain neutral-sounding yet be so emotionally involved. :/
I'm thinking average sounds pretty good about now!

Okay. Aaron Jay sent me a lovely zip file with all the necessary ingredients to complete a submission, just like he did for our previous collab. In the required jpg field, I could either put the design image or the placement image (these are separate jpg files). I have the swf file and it's fine, but I can't view it (I'm at work). When I preview, there's no flash, so I can't tell what it looks like. Do I put the design jpg in the required field or the placement jpg in? I feel like an idiot. I really need to get more knowledgeable about this stuff!

Oh, and I'm sure Aaron is busy; I tried emailing him. LOL

I would appreciate any help!

UPDATE: I finally had my lighbulb moment; it's pending now!!!

I've had this on my Amazon wish list for a while now; something I've always wanted to read. This book is definitely vintage and in amazing shape. It smells like an old library. *sniff*

Secret Santa 2010 016
I have pierced ears but the holes always grow back; they've been repierced twice. Thereby the reason for the (green) post-it!

Secret Santa 2010 018
If I can't get these through my ears, I'm going to go get repierced; these are GORGEOUS and shiny and I want to wear them!!! And the case is so cute; it has a spot for a couple of rings and has a mirror in it. The outside is really pretty, and of course, GREEN. :D

Secret Santa 2010 019

Secret Santa 2010 041
Eeeeee! Aren't you excited to see?

Secret Santa 2010 042
*speechless* Okay, over the speechlessness. Isn't it so cute??? It's an owl and the background is green. I can't think of anything better!!! I can't wait to press it flat and get it displayed in our computer room. :D

Secret Santa 2010 045
It's a reuseable lunch sack! I can fit a sandwich or chips in here and then throw it in the washing machine when it's dirty. So cute with the sock monkeys on it!

Secret Santa 2010 046
Holy crap. It's a camera strap. WITH OWLS. While I waited for all the photos to load to flickr I attached it to my camera and then used it today at my youngest daughter's first basketball game. :D
