A happy b-day to all those born on October 3 (the best birthday, of course), but a special shout-out to my fellow 26 y.o.'s, Willh1013, alphabetapi and boygeenyus.
We are all now officially closer to 30 than 20. ...wait...that's not so great. oh, man...
I'm relatively new to threadless, and as such I'm not sure if this has been discussed before. But anyway, it's gettin' to be that time of year again, and I'm in the market for a new snowboard. So I go looking around, and something strikes me. Threadless designs would look great on a snowboard!
So now I'm wondering, has Threadless ever considered selling custom snowboards, of either existing designs, or having a specific contest for snowboard art? There are already companies that create custom boards using your own art, so I know this type of thing is possible. I would think the only question is, are there enough snowboarders that shop threadless to warrant it? I would guess 'yes' :) So I put together a few examples to demonstrate what existing threadless designs would look like on a board, shown below. My apologies to any designers if you are not pleased by my use (or slight modification in some cases) of your designs for demonstration here. Just let me know and I'll take it down. Don't know how I missed these the first time around. If this isn't evidence that threadless should be doing snowboards, I don't know what is... CLICK TO VIEW HIGH-RES VERSION
So here's a question concerning intellectual property. If someone on this site comes across a design that they believe to be "borrowing heavily", so to speak, from someone else's existing work, on this site or others, what options does he have?
Short of crashing the party and throwing accusations, and assuming the designer has no contact info on their profile, is there some kind of 'reporting' feature that lets you communicate your concerns to the staff at threadless?
Joined up a few days ago, then found out about slogans. After a bit of thought, I had a little bit of slogan diarrhea over the weekend. I look at my ratings now, though, and all of them have roughly the same number of ratings, in the high 20's and low 30's.
Would it be wrong to assume that the little slogan rating widget on the site only really displays newly submitted slogans, and after that, you have to rely on people visiting your profile? I'd like to start weeding out the losers of the bunch, but I don't know if 30 votes is really enough to make a good call or not. |

I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
