I have a project where I need to advertise a 'fringe festival'.
Fringe: on the edge, not part of the mainstream, alternativem, not conservative, unconventional. My topic is 'edible at ikea', or 'fringe edibles festival'. Imagine yourself at ikea, but finding out that the furniture is not, in fact, furniture, but delicious edible yumminess... But how do I change your perceptions of a chair? I am so stuck :|
I'm reworking this pattern for the loves patterns. Turning it into a halfdrop, and I hope I can get my butt into gear and maybe even finish it today, while I'm feeling great.
![]() And in an update of my life, I just got back from picking up my marks, and I feel the need to gloat a little, because I can't reach my family to tell them how I went :P This semester I got - 1 credit - 2 distinctions - 10 high distinctions and I did not expect to get that many HD's! Worked really hard for it, so I'm so glad it paid off :) WOOOO Also, I've been lurking in the shadows lately and not been very active on the blogs. I suck!
Tapping into all of your creative geniuses out there again.
The left image is finished (had to be stable, conservative... But the second one is more difficult than I thought. The brief says "create or source a single sentence statement of question that gives the object meaning. Stimulate the mind - with how the words we read changes the way we think about the object we see. Stimulate the eye - with a bvisually dynamic partnership between image and text within the format. A Dynamic and lively composition with a clear sense of movement. But I keep on still making it balanced... This is what I had first: ![]() Suggested by lecturer: ![]() Alternative idea: ![]() What do you guys works best? Hints/tips?
I think I had around $3 in STP's yesterday, and now $10.50?
WHO IS BEING SO LOVELY? Allow me to send you (virtual) cake ![]() cider ![]() and lots of cups of coffee in any order you might wish. Thankyou! :D
and it's a rainy, crappy day... But I'm not gonna let that (or that pile of homework due on Monday) stop me from drinking lots of ciders tonight and having fun! :D
It's weird that I'm not in my teens anymore now, yikes.
and it is literally driving me nutso.
![]() see, this looks fine on screen... but then when I print it it's got these white lines all through it... and Illustrator crashed without saving the file so I'm going to have to start from scratch, and I really can't be bothered (I should really save my stuff more often hey). For some reason when I try to turn this into a pattern: ![]() (when I'm actually selecting the repeating tile and everything) it keeps on deleting the yellow things in the backrgound, and I have no idea why. I flattened the image, grouped it, tried random stuff, and it's just not working. Any idea why?
it's my birthday soon, and I think I want some nice silver jewellery.
This seed pod is cute ![]() and I've wanted this tiny wishbone (in silver) for ages ![]() what do you guys like? I'm thinking around the $30 mark... those ones were from Etsy.
New question - I need a name for a weather oracle I'm making for uni.
I'm currently stuck with 'The Weather Zone', or plain and simple 'The Weather Oracle', but that's mightily boring... Any suggestions? ![]() Entertain me? How are you all, did you do anything interesting? Also, feel free to critique of course. I should be working on my three cards project for my drawing/illustration class, which is due tomorrow... YIKES. The cards are based on a poem by Byron: There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more, From these our interviews, in which I steal From all I may be, or have been before, To mingle with the Universe, and feel What I can ne'er express, yet cannot all conceal. ![]() ![]() ![]()
This is for my 'technology' class - we're doing a topic on Colour, for which we have to design 3 Landscape A3 posters:
- the colour wheel (with analogous and complimentary colours) - colour systems for print & screen (RBG & CMYK) - Monochromatic & subtle colours. Colour Wheel: ![]() Monochromatic Colours & Subtle Colours: ![]() CMYK & RGB Colour Systems: |
