I submitted a dress design for a contest held by modcloth.com and I made the top 25 cut! :D yay!
Now I need help though... I would really love it all if you could take a couple of minutes to log into facebook and go to their page for the contest:

Ok so I've got one sub up already for the 4 words or less challenge..


But I've got a few more ideas and only 1 week left to choose which idea to work on next. I'm kinda slow so I may only get one more finished by the deadline. So I'd like opinions as to which idea is the strongest for this particular challenge :) I'll eventually do them all but like I said ... I doubt I'll make the deadline with more than one... and they cap designers to only 3 subs per challenge anyways so I couldn't sub them for 4 words or less all even if I could finish them.

Think is could be cute and funny.. but the cartoonish nature of how I'm picturing it is not something I've ever attempted before.


I like this but think perhaps the phrase is too generic?

I'm not sure if going straight illustrated type is the way to go. The last type contest 3 words or less the winner had type as well as a big illustrated bird. I think it was "fight or flight" right?

Ok I'm going to just ask. I've got a typography 4 words or less sub that NEEDS two panels to show the art and the shirt. But my computer that has flash on it went bye bye, I don't have the CD and my trial on the laptop has expired.

I have the two panels and I think I've got them sized correctly so together they are under the correct file size.

Would anyone be willing to pop them into a basic 2 page flash template? I'd really appreciate it!

Ok I've decided I'm going to make this as a way to keep my 2012 submissions all in one place.
My "goal" is to try to do 12 this year (I'm going to count any group submissions or collabs too) cause that's the way I am and will probably need them to hit my 12 goal. hehe.

Ok well I've been freezing in my office so I was thinking of buying a new hoodie and maybe a cardigan. My question is basically if anyone has bought a cardigan do they like it? Is it warm?

I'm asking mostly because as I was looking at the close up photos, it looks like the cardigans are not actually a lightweight sweater knit but are just t-shirt material cut in a cardigan shape. If this is the case I'm just going to stick with a hoodie since t-shirt material has like an almost zero warmth rating :P

Well I don't know if this blog will get your attention or not but since you're the resident hula hooping expert around here I'd love your opinion before I go and buy something online that I might not like or is a terrible brand or quality etc.?

Ok after my last submission dropped early and the one before it is tanking badly too... I'd like a little feedback or suggestions before I go and submit another idea. I'm feeling good about this but would like your suggestions.

Does it need anything else? I'm thinking I'd like to add some "etched" looking squirly curly-q's above and below the illustration but am concerned that it might be a bit too busy.

Do you hate the pencil drawing? Is the layout ok? Should I change anything??



I think it would look best on heather grey. But am open to other suggestions!

Decided to put together a little something for the Loves Drawing II contest.

It dropped early and I don't see why. It's a good piece of well executed art.
It's not poorly drawn or poorly painted.

I get it's not funny. But it is pretty. And it fulfills the requirements of the Loves Drawing as being hand drawn art. I just don't get it???

Ok well I'm guessing mine is from KathleenisRadical since my santa's name is Kathleen! ;)
Extremely amusing fact - my Santa apparently lives like 20 min away from me. lol!

I'm not sure exactly when it arrived. It was delivered to my leasing office and they only called me yesterday to tell me.

Box!! Used a cut up threadless sticker thingy to cover the address :P


I slid everything out carefully and at first it all appeared to be wrapped in white paper.


Then I started unwrapping one and realized there was adorable little drawings on all of them!!






And then letters written inside each package!! OMG!

Super cute feather hair pin. It totally survived the packing and shipping. I put it up high.. the question now is will it survive being in the same apartment as my cat!! He's already been the demise of more than one feather hair accessory


A homemade candle! I love candles :D And I dunno about the smells but when I opened it up it smelled a little like cookie lemon cheesecake!


SO FREAKING GOOD!!! My husband and I ate it all last night!


Caramel covered apple gummie bears! Wow! I've never been a fan of "fake" apple flavoring but damn if they don't taste just like caramel apples like this! A new favorite

A collection of way cool old sci-fi books! Love them :D


I got TWO bags of these things! Totally homemade awesomeness. I've no idea what they are but half were gone last night hehe! It was chocolate outside with almonds. The inside was filled with some sort of caramel marshmallow amazing!






And a super nice letter and an adorable drawing of a kitty riding an appaloosa :) Side note - When I was growing up I remember one of the barn cats would sometimes sleep on top of the horse. So cute!
