This is my pick for the $10k prize. An extremely strong concept that most people can relate to and that everyone can comprehend. The execution of it is perfect with minimal color and simplicity.

The main image source used for this design is the burial mask of King Psusennes I, NOT KING TUT.
"Psusennes I, was the third king of the Twenty-first dynasty of Egypt who ruled between 1047 – 1001 BC. Psusennes is the Greek version of his original name Pasebakhaemniut, which means "The Star Appearing in the City" while his throne name, Akheperre Setepenamun, translates as "Great are the Manifestations of Re, chosen of Amun." (Wikipedia) Learn something.

This design was submitted to 101010 Loves challenge; the brief being "To create the next iconic tee".

For the past years, ancient civilizations and history in general has become an interest and inspiration for my work. When brainstorming ideas for 'Icons' or 'Iconic' objects, three things immediately came to mind: royalty, wealth, and time. The visual search for ideas began there...

The concept of combining future (stars/space) with the past (Ancient Egypt) was something I chose to focus on. Before knowing who the mask belonged to, I had already decided to incorporate something in relation to outer space; the owner's name meaning '"The Star Appearing in the City" just kind of worked out nicely with what I intended on doing.

There isnt an exact meaning behind this design; just a few ideas that came together and make some sort of sense in my own mind.
