I think I'd like a solid b/w look more, but I'm just not into the washed-out look altogether. Maybe just tone down the washed out thing a little? And why the faded edges? D:

thanks for your vote!
and about the faded edges - i dunno why i did it, probably because that was the general consensus from the comments. haha! |

Hey thanks for the comment! This is such a good design! I really like the black and white theme and the washed out looks really good on this tee. I'd say submit it like this one.

Wash it out. At least that way we can see the difference and decide from there.
If you get a chance, I would love a comment and a vote on my submitted design, Stars Always Have To Work The Night Shift |

love the adding of the grass - does make it seem more natural that them being boxed like in old-school zoo- sorry but this migh increase your head size but I like the boldness of V1 - hope it helps
I'm about to submit my design but would like a final say, critique please. |

I'm leaning towards the solid from V1.
But the faded out on V.3 is not bad either. So I guess you could go for V.3. Although I do think that the placemente might be a little too big. Maybe smaller will make a better negative space on the shirt! Just slightly smaller, not too much of course! Anyway, if you can, please drop a quick score at my design? It's the last day! If you already have, thanks a lot I really appreciate it! Score "I believe I can FLY" |

i'd go for V1 as i commented on V2, the solid edge looks way better and defined :)
If you don't feel so solid, try rounded corner :) if you have the time please comment on my latest version of Popsicle Love design :) |

Great design and concept! I love a well executed black and white tee.
I assume by "washed-out" you mean the splotchy bits of transparency effects on the actual design and not just the edge fades? If that is indeed the case, there may be a compromise to this polarization of votes. What if you kept the washed-out look and tried a solid edge fade by way of other methods? What I mean by that is instead of feathering the edges like you have in V3 you could try a variety of other methods such as half-tones, cross-hatching, etc. I kind of envision with your design having exponentially decreasing strokes on your edges. This is hard to describe in words... It would look almost like a barcode on the edges. At each solid edge, begin to break it up into vertical or horizontal lines that remain parallel to each other but have their weight steadily decrease as you move further from the center. The rate of decrease and the quantity of strokes should probably vary for each individual edge to keep consistent with the style of your design. I hope I made at least some sense and didn't completely confuse you. As you can guess, I'm a visual learner. : ) Cross-hatching may also look good with this design. Whatever you end up doing (if you do indeed try one of these methods), I would advise you to make the strokes relatively large and apparent. Otherwise it will just appear to have the same fade for a lot of extra work and thus lose its potential style. Best of luck with this! Help me out? |

hagnii: wow thanks for the details! i'll definitely be trying out your suggestions when i've got the time!

I like the washed out look of the last one, but with the solid edges of the first one. Good work, it's a quality design :)
