Haha. That's cool! Is this for the SEED comp? looks awsome. love the sketchy style for the background. Try to make the contours on the eye/light perfect, as I think they're slightly out at the moment.

Yeah, that does look better, but I'd be concerned that (despite being grainy) it is a gradient. ie: the colour gradiation detail is too intricate for a screen print.

it's not a gradient, is a Manga Screentone.

The kid is too classic for the robot, I'd put the kid in the cockpit with his head inside and legs out to make him look like he's fixing something at the pedals (if there are any pedals :P)
