If you choose a background, make it very subtle and non-intrusive. Fantastic illustration though, i think this is ready to submit once you make up your mind on the background issue.

I agree about the non intrusive background, maybe on the upper right of the shirt? Love the bird on stilts. :) I would also wear this.

I'm thinking possible one or two more birds doing silly circus things, such as one on a unicycle. I'll add a really light background of some kind to go with the birds and I'll see wht that does for the shirt.

hok so general consensus seems to be: background might be nice, but pretty fun as is. and since I can't think of anything subtle and silly enough to go with the birds, and i'm thinking that I like them by themselves now anyhow, I guess I'll go ahead and sub it! I agree that perhaps the birds could be smaller on the shirt; maybe add a few more flying up above?
